Yatton lodge of Hospitality Donation to BRI Stroke Unit

Update 6th November

A letter of thanks from Ward Sister Chris Oram

Original Article

Bro Dave Palmer was very pleased to hand over to the stroke ward at Bristol Royal Infirmary a donation of 10 new digital radios, 5 portable dvd players and 10 cd players.

In June Dave suffered 2 strokes, which lead him being admitted to the ward, and on leaving he wanted to do something as a thank you. On asking the ward sister, she mentioned that they had no means of entertainment for the patients, and that a radio would be nice. Hospitality (9299) agreed to donate some funds, and the Province were also pleased to get involved and match funded the lodge donation.

Ward Sister Christine Oram said “I am truly amazed by such a generous amount of gifts, earlier in the year the media company that supplied tv’s and radios to the ward went bust and we have been struggling with 2 old radios to keep the patients entertained, this really will make a huge difference to them and break the monotony of their days up so thank you to the somerset masons from all of us on ward 515.

Below are 2 photos showing Dave handing over the donation, and Somerset Provincial sticker which now takes pride of place on the Ward Sisters office door!
